This was a 3rd year project and a personal response to a Haynes
Manual. I became most interested with the oily fingerprints left on the Manual from its previous owner. After studying the contents for weeks I could sympathise with its previous owner as the frustration of trying to De-code this closed language was clear in the greasy fingerprints. I felt like the more you became physically involved with the manual, the clearer the information became. To portray this feeling of frustration I set the Engine chapter of the Manual in fingerprints that were only recognisable as type when viewed under a magnifying glass. This was a handmade reproduction of the Haynes Manual featuring the engine chapter in fingerfrints.
